'(19 Jan 2000) Natural Sound The only Asian designer to attend French fashion week showed her latest range on Tuesday. Hanae Mori, one of Japan\'s most acclaimed designers, showed off her spectacularly bold and colorful collection. French designer Christian Lacroix also displayed his latest artistic creations. Bold colours and beautiful lines. This is the work of Japanese designer Hanae Mori She is the Japanese imperial family\'s favourite and offered a very colourful show at the Haute Couture week in the French capital. Mori is the only Asian designer to attend and used fine materials such as silk, lace and broidery. Her collection included wearable fluid crepe trouser suits, with the signature draping, or fancy silver or braided frog fastenings. The show included a whole range of exclusive day and evening wear. The collection started with eye catching silk dresses decorated with various accessories. And there were the ravishing \"garden\" dresses with intricate beaded embroidery in flower and birds of paradise on graded shades of daffodil and pearly gray silk. Her collection wouldn\'t be complete without a wonderful white wedding dress. Mori\'s collection definitely had a feminine feel to it. France\'s very own Christian Lacroix offered a more unconventional version of fashion at his Haute Couture show with very bright, strong colour. Lacroix turned in a wonderfully artistic show at the Beaux Arts school in Paris. The witty and wearable party gear showed off Lacroix\'s great talent for modern art, from abstract graffiti designs to a sensual use of different fabric surfaces. The clever fabric-contrast effects on some fabulously cut evening wear brought gasps from the audience. Materials used for making and dressing up garments included liquorice sweet-like plastic details coupled with luxurious embroidery. Coral and dark shades, asymmetric and scalloped designs showered the catwalk along with the sensual use of fabrics in luxury patchwork. Lacroix also used graphics, light layers, Miro-like painting effects on chiffon.
