'DIY: How to make a multi-functional dress. Part 8. How to process the vent and attach the lining.'

'Today we continue working with a multi-functional dress. There’s not much left to do. We’ll finish the dress today. What we need to do is to cover the vent with the lining, and then stitch the lining to the bottom. We need to draw a cutting line on the lining. I’ll show you how to draw it. Draw 2 lines – 1st one along the edge of the vent and the 2nd – the centerback, 1cm further. We are showing you an easy way to cover a vent with lining. When we stitch the angle, we’ll show you how to attach the lining to the vent. Pin the overcast edge of the lining to the overcast edge of the item itself. We’ve done everything accurately, so we don’t have any problems now. I know that the things I show you seem complicated, but actually they are not. Practice makes perfect. You may think that I’m showing you too complicated techniques. Guys, we’ve already made a lot of simple items! It’s time for us to start working with more complicated designs. We show you how to make items the way we make them in our fashion house. I want to tack the overcast to the dress before ironing it. Have you noticed how convenient it is to work with the spacing seams? You get very accurate details. The only thing left to do is to stitch the last part of the lining to the bottom. To do that you need to tack one of the side seams out. The techniques we’ve showed you today are pretty complicated, but I think you’ll manage to apply them. I’m glad we are starting to show you the more complicated designs. Don’t be afraid of experiments and remember that practice that practice makes perfect. My name is Paukshte Irina.
