This is how you draw a pleat, or a fold, same difference, one is a little harder, one is a little softer. I happen to do a lot of pleats, so I\'m going to go with pleats. We\'re going to start with like a high-waisted skirt. You pretty much just want to start by doing some straight hard lines, and also be thinking about what the silhouette of your skirt is going to be. For me I\'m going to go with an A-line, just above the knee skirt. So you start with your vertical lines, okay. After you\'ve got your silhouette basically in order, and you could always go back in and erase something if you don\'t like it, after you\'ve penned in the whole situation, you then kind of just do a zigzag across and connect the lines. And wherever your zigzags ended up, really doesn\'t matter where your vertical lines ended up, because then you could just carry those upward, with a little bit of a heavier hand to indicate them. And when everything is said and done, you can go in with your pen and solidify the whole situation. And I am drawing like a high-waisted corset pleated skirt, because I\'m obsessed with corsetry, one of my things, and I\'m just going to carry these down and follow the zigzag that I did at the bottom. Now I\'m going to carry those zigzags all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, etc, etc, etc. Now the last step is you go in with your hand eraser and get rid of all that pencil, and there you go, that\'s how you draw pleats.'
