'(2 Oct 2016) DISCO STARDUST AT ELIE SAAB Top American models Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid and Hailey Baldwin graced the runway at Elie Saab\'s Spring Summer 2017 fashion show in Paris, Saturday (1 OCT. 2016). Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab created a glamorous disco setting at the Tuileries Garden reminiscent of the world-famous 70s nightclub Studio 54 with his \"Standing on Stardust\" collection that, according to the show\'s notes, \"blended the lightness of summer with the extravagance of eveningwear.\" Shimmering gowns, exuberant sequin detailing, and liquid lamé pieces \"evoked the golden age of disco in an effusive mix of color, texture and tailoring of bold sensuality.\" The first look, worn by Dutch fashion model and Victoria\'s Secret Angel Romee Strijd -- a Prussian blue dress with symmetrical accents in crimson and bronze, as well as bold stars in violet and pineapple yellow, topped with a cropped jacket in the same fabric—set the mood for the rest of the collection. Technicolor stars were ubiquitous. They appeared on several of the garments, on appliqués, embroidery and various prints, representing \"a fresh fall of stardust, a new era of easy glamour,\" according to the show\'s notes. American top model Karlie Kloss strutted down the pink and violet glittered runway right after Strijd, wearing a piece in the same fabric as the Dutch model, but in the form of a sleeveless dress that seemed short in the front with a long, flowing train, complete with matching baseball cap and peep-toe nude heels with black contrasting trim. Long-sleeve blouses, tuxedo jackets, sleeveless jumpsuits and several evening gowns--even the collection\'s accessories—chokers, long necklaces, earrings, baseball caps and high heeled shoes—featured stars in various sizes and colors. The ultra-glam collection also featured Saab\'s signature evening gowns that combined tulle, lurex, leather and silk mousseline elements. Jet black, cream, were combined with metallic hues. There were hints of blush pink, turquoise, terracotta, fuchsia and electric red. American model Gigi Hadid showed off a black plunging gown with lots of black sparkly fringe and accents of cerulean blue, gold peep-toe caged high heel sandals, a gold, multi-strand choker and large dangling star earrings. Among the looks worn by American model Hailey Baldwin was a long-sleeve, sheer black dress featuring black embroidered stars with a black bodysuit underneath. The label also debuted its sunglass collection. The eyewear featured color-tinted lenses in coral, gold and sunset orange in generous and feminine forms. German actress Diane Krueger, French actresses Emmanuelle Béart and Clotilde Courau were among the celebrities sitting front row.
