'VIKTOR AND ROLF PRESENTS AT PARIS FASHION WEEK Sportswear with a feminine touch took center stage at the Viktor & Rolf Spring-Summer 2015 Ready-to-wear fashion show Saturday (27 SEPT. 2014) afternoon. Dutch designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren chose the home of the ambassador from the Netherlands in the Seventh Arrondissement to unveil a collection that romanticized athletics. Models in tight ponytails and messy bangs, as if they had just finished running, showcased romantic sporty looks: sleeveless, floral-print dresses with cycling shorts underneath, ample dresses and separates. Floral prints with touches of lay pink, apricot, lavender and mint green were mixed with athletic stripes, while solid-color tank tops were paired with elegant sports pants. The collection also featured garments in classic black and white of athletic wear, with a twist: jogging pants with side stripes in a flowery print were worn with black shoes with transparent heels. \"What started with garments that had a very tight fit so obviously there\'s a lot of fabrics that have stretch, decorative seaming related to sportswear, color-blocking, tank tops so these kind of iconic sportswear elements and then mixing them with free-form volumes and the free-form is, comes about by abstract elastication, there\'s a lot of elastic, creating ruffles, giving a feminine, romantic feeling, without being literally a ruffle that you know,\" said Nicola Formichetti, artistic director of Italian fashion house Diesel, applauded the work of the sister fashion label. \"Oh, I love Viktor & Rolf, I\'m a big supporter of what they do. I mean, I discovered fashion because of them. When I first moved to London and that time in the late 90\'s, so I\'m always a big admirer. And now we\'re in the same group, OTB, which Diesel designed for, as part of Viktor & Rolf, other great designers, so it\'s supporting family,\" Formichetti said. Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha, who walked for Viktor & Rolf in the early part of her career, sat front row to show her support. \"There\'s a message at the end of the runway which was always a unique twist. They were like the edgy cool kids of Paris Fashion Week so I come now to see if they\'ve grown into new designers or if they\'re still the cool, edgy kids,\" Rocha said.
