'(7 Mar 2016) SWANS AND PUFFA JACKETS AT STELLA MCCARTNEY Swans and puffa jackets dominated the catwalk at Stella McCartney\'s ready-to-wear Autumn-Winter 2016 fashion show Monday (7 MARCH 2016) at the Opera Garnier in Paris. The designer presented an effortlessly feminine collection, this time with a touch of humor and a tomboy feel. \"I think our entire house is about celebrating women, you know? So it\'s really about taking the pieces that we\'ve been doing and giving women in their wardrobe for many years and bringing them all into one show in a bigger and better way,\" McCartney shared after the show. Urban puffa jackets were a key element of the collection. They appeared in different lengths - some cropped or cinched at the waist, most of them oversized. They also came in different colors: easy-to-wear black, but also in radiant hues, including apricot, peacock and denim blue. The first look, a copper velvet puffa vest and an ankle-length plisse skirt in ginger with foil bronze panels, immediately set the mood. \"We had sort of the mixture of like a puffa jacket and then a foil-pleated skirt with tulle coming out from underneath. It was this idea of just taking extraordinary elements and putting them all together in a kind of really real way, you know?\" said McCartney. A swan print motif dominated the collection, with wide-leg trousers, long sleeve shirts with ruffle accents, and a long, floor-sweeping dress all featuring the print. \"I think swans are so elegant. They\'re so beautiful,\" shared McCartney. \"I always think they\'re pretty British, even though they\'re probably not. But, you know, we have them in the parks in London and I just think they\'re very elegant creatures. And kind of aggressive too, so that\'s good, you know? I like the contrast.\" Shoes had a sporty feel, even mules and pumps, which came in velvet, denim and nappa finishes, while jewelry came in the form of single long pendant earrings and necklaces with crescent and cylindrical shapes. British singer and songwriter Sir Paul McCartney was very impressed by his daughter\'s work. \"It\'s always exciting to come to Stella\'s show because she\'s my little baby,\" smiled the former Beatle. \"But I think it\'s always surprising to see how professional and what a great designer she is, and this collection I think was very special. It\'s a little younger, and witty, very unusual. I think the girls all look beautiful and so yeah, I love it. I think she was fabulous.\" British actress Kristin Scott Thomas, Swedish actress Noomi Rapace and British Formula One racing champion Lewis Hamilton were among the celebrities sitting front row at the show.
