Catwalk finale INTERNATIONAL DESIGNERS AT INDIA FASHION WEEK India\'s Lakme fashion week kicked off on Wednesday, in Mumbai with international designers showcasing their Spring/Summer2007 collections. Many Bollywood actors turned out to support the shows. It is the first time international designers have shown at India fashion week, which has until now been the domain of local designers. This year, two French designers, Nathalie Garcon and international fashion house Leonard accepted invitations to become part of the show. An exchange programme developed by Fédération Française du Prêt à Porter Féminin (French Federation of Women\'s Ready-to-Wear), Lakme Fashion week and IMG enabled two Indian designers to present their work at Prêt à Porter, Paris. Indian designer, Surily Goel said she supported the move as it opened up the international market for Indian designers. \"I think its finally becoming one big market,\" she said. The clothes are designed to be wearable yet affordable for the Indian market. Lakme fashion week runs from 31st October - 4th November.
