'Sew So DOPE is a program administered under the Timbuk2 Academy; created to provide girls with hands on sewing instruction, while learning the ropes of turning sewing into a sustainable career. The hallmark of the project is that our girls learn the art of thrifting and transform recycled clothes into NEW wearable fashions. Kuumba! Creativity!! This summer, we did the un-imaginable and ran an extremely successful pilot program with girls ages 3-7. Our students operated full-sized sewing machines and sewed their own clothes! YES!
